Sarah and I decided a couple weeks ago we were going to get a cat. So last Sunday the kids and I went to look at some, but unfortunately Sarah had to work. We found one we like and were pretty much set, except Sarah hadn't met her. We wanted to make sure Sarah liked the kitten before we committed. Last night we decided to go to the Dane County Humane Society's west side adoption center to see what kittens they had there. This one year old skinny little orange cat was there from the HappyCat Club and we all just loved her. She's very sweet. Apparently, she was one of about 26 cats living with and elderly woman. They were living off Rice Chex so she's rather small and skinny. We'll need to fatten her up a bit. After filling out the paperwork we were very excited to learn that we could take her home right away. That we were not expecting. Noah, Jack, and Joe love their new cat. Noah and Jack had a hard time heading out the door to the bus today, though it was easy getting them out of bed this morning.

               

We had our first successful model rocket launch yesterday. We had a pretty good time. Unfortunately, the cameraman (me) for the second launch messed up and that wasn't filmed. We used a larger engine for the second launch, so it was even cooler than the one in the video below.

Jack, for some odd reason, loves coming to work with me. We hang out, I get some work done, and Jack keeps himself busy with something he brought from home or playing on one of the many extra computers in my office. Earlier this week when Jack came to work with me we had a treat and walked down to Ian's Pizza for lunch. Jack's favorite.

Noah turned ten years old on Sunday. I can't believe she's reached double digits. It seems like just yesterday I was squeezing her infant seat into my Jetta to bring her home from the hospital. Now she's this intelligent, beautiful young girl. She had a couple friends sleep over Friday night. She's entering into the giggly young adolescent stage. They were up late talking, and making all sorts of noise. On Sunday we had some family over, and of course Noah got a stack of books. Everyone knows that's the best thing to get her. She's already finished one, and is almost done with another. We got her a hammock as well, so she's spent a good portion of the last couple days relaxing in that with her books.

     

Every time I try to get decent pictures of the kids they either make goofy faces, or turn it into a game and run away. Today I just gave them the camera and told them to take pictures of each other. Of course the majority of the pictures they took were not of each other, and the ones that were mostly consisted of them goofing around. I didn't have to get frustrated trying to get good pictures of them though. Here's some good pictures they took.
