Obama announced his high speed rail plan. Madison to Chicago would be a nice trip. My guess is the route would be by way of Milwaukee. I had a conversation with a faculty member a few weeks ago who buses in from Milwaukee to teach in Madison. Apparently, the buses are full of commuters during the week. High speed rail would be a boon.
